Surrounded by Geese Over the Fields was inspired by the spring and autumn migration of Canada Geese in North America. The 16-patch blocks in a variety of warm, rich, earth-tones represent the fields. The Flying Geese blocks are framed with varying blues representing the sky. The center is surrounded by a border of Flying Geese. To unify the quilt, the black/brown prints for the Flying Geese and first and second borders are of a similar medium to dark value. Directions are included to make the Flying Geese using a quick, no-waste method. The field blocks are made using a speedy strip-pieceing method. Complete, accurate, easy to follow instructions.
